AUTHOR

Lahiny Pierre was born in Jacmel. She grew up in Debussy, and studied at Centre Classique Feminin, CCF. She is a  SUNY graduate and twice the recipient of a Long Island University Graduate Assistantship. Ms Pierre taught, high school English, for the New York City Department of Education, and served as an adjunct at Stony Brook University.

 

She is the author of General Authority, a Haitian novel, the coffee-table book, Haiti Earthquake 1-12-2010, and a documentary titled, Haiti On Demand. Her two new books are a novel titled, Family Values, and an essay titled, Freedom Conscience: Sovereignty vs. Paternalization. Other publication credits include articles with Awareness Magazine, Columnist with Haitian Times, and with Traffic News To Go Berlin.

The African, whether on the continent or outside of it, is the richest and most resourceful. It is time for “Black Power” to claim all wealth, especially the spiritual.
